On October 13, 2016 at the Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia (IARM), a Roundtable was held within the project of the IARM for cooperation with the public sector on the following topic: “Accreditation of certification bodies in accordance with MKC EN ISO/IEC 17021, MKC EN ISO/IEC 17065 and MKC EN ISO/IEC 17024, for employees in the public sector.”
Namely, for participation of the Roundtable were invited representatives from the public sector where accreditation and accredited certification bodies are met in their workflow, from the following institutions: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Agency for Food and Veterinary, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Customs administration, Bureau of Public Procurement, State Labour Inspectorate, Ministry of Information Society and Administration, Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Through professional presentations and fruitful discussions on the event were handled questions about correct approach, treatment and assessment of the importance of accreditation.
All types of certification bodies and standards for accreditation of certification bodies were presented. There was a discussion about what are the benefits for regulators of using an accredited certification body, what you need to consider when choosing a certification body and how to make the correct choice of a certification body.
Proper use of the benefits of accreditation is of multi-sided significance, as for the following: correct and lawful operation of the public sector, the correct approach and treatment of documents issued by accredited certification bodies, and for end-users of the services - citizens and businesses.
Hence, the expected effect is the contribution of the IARM for ensuring the smooth functioning of the link route: economy - bodies of executive power, and improving the effectiveness, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the operation of public services.
The next Round Table on issues related to the accredited inspection bodies will be held in November 2016, at the IARM.
Sincerely, the IARM
