Roundtable held within the project of the IARM for cooperation with the public sector related to the work of the accredited laboratories

On September 15, 2016 at the Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia (IARM) the first Roundtable was held within the project of the IARM for cooperation with the public sector related to the work of accredited laboratories for employees in the public sector.
Namely, for participation of the Roundtable were invited representatives from the public sector where workflow meet accreditation or accredited testing laboratories, calibration and medical laboratories of the following institutions: Customs Administration of RM - Department of Customs Laboratory, PMI UI PET Centre, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Medicines agency, Food and veterinary Agency, Directorate for radiation safety, Agency for electronic communications, State Inspectorate for Construction and Urban Development, the State Labour Inspectorate, State Inspectorate for Technical Inspection and Bureau of metrology.
Through professional presentations and fruitful discussions on the event were handled questions about correct approach, treatment and assessment of the importance of accreditation in terms of performance of the activities and powers of the public sector in the implementation of regulations where accreditation is prescribed as a mandatory condition for obtaining certain authorizations to work in the so called regulated area and in the unregulated area, in which accreditation is performed on a voluntary request of the service users.
The primary objective is the proper implementation of national legislation concerning the requirements for accreditation especially in the area of trasnposed European legislation, as well as proper use of the benefits of accreditation, which is of multiside significance, as for: correct and lawful operation of the public sector, correct approach and treatment of documents issued by accredited bodies for conformity assessment, and for end-users of the services - citizens and businesses.
Hence, the expected effect is the contribution of the IARM for ensuring smooth functioning of link route: Economy - bodies of executive power, and improving the effectiveness, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the operation of public services.
The next Roundtable on which issues related to the accredited certification bodies are going to be discussed, will be held on 13 October 2016, at the IARM.
