Information about the new standard ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems - Requirements

The standard ISO 9001: 2015 Quality management systems - Requirements, is published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in September 2015 and adopted by the Instutut for standardization of the Republic of Macedonia, MKS EN ISO 9001: 2015 on 30.10.2015.

According to the Resolution of the General Assembly of IAF (International Accreditation Forum) the transition period of the standard is three (3) years.

The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has published Transition Guidance to the new standard IAF, informative document ID 9.

The Transition Guidance (Transition Planning Guidance for ISO 9001: 2015) provides guidance for the transition to all interested parties (organizations that implement standard / clients of certification bodies, certification bodies and accreditation bodies).

The institute for accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia (IARM) will assess the transition to the new standard MKS EN ISO 9001: 2015 of all accredited certification bodies for quality management systems as part of the regular annual surveillance.

The accredited certification bodies for quality management systems can request from the IARM to be assessed for transition to the new standard earlier than the set date of surveillance by submitting the application for accreditation.

Non-accredited certification bodies for quality management systems interested in accreditation may submit an application for accreditation, both for certification of quality management systems according to MKS EN ISO 9001: 2009 and according to MKS EN ISO 9001: 2015.

Having regard to the transition period of 3 years, the assessment for accreditation of certification bodies for quality management systems according to MKS EN ISO 9001: 2009, the IARM will be conducted till September 2017.
