The Memorandum of Cooperation with the Federal Accreditation Service of the Russian Federation being signed

 

The Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia (IARM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Accreditation Service of the Russian Federation.
 
The Memorandum was signed within the Eighth Intergovernmental Russian-Macedonian Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation held on 29th and 30th September 2014 in Kaliningrad, the Russian Federation.
 
The meeting was presided by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government and Minister of Finance, Mr. Zoran Stavreski, and the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, Mr. Maksim Travnikov.
  
The working groups of the chief intergovernmental delegations discussed on the following various significant topics of mutual interest:
- major directives and perspectives of development in the trade and economic cooperation between both the economies, the energetics, transport, agriculture and military-technical cooperation.
 
Thereby, the signing of the Memorandum of understanding between the national accreditation bodies of the Republic of Macedonia and the Russian Federation was greeted.
 
The signing of this Memorandum is an expression of the signatories’ good will to establish the information, analytical and organizational cooperation in the accreditation field, in compliance with the relevant documents of international and regional accreditation organizations. The major directives are exchange of experience and information regarding accreditation of conformity assessment bodies, exchange of assessors, organization of trainings, workshops, seminars and conferences concerning issues of mutual interest, enhancing cooperation in the economic field between both the economies, especially through elimination of technical barriers in trade through the process of conformity assessment.
 
Also, by signing this Memorandum, the IARM expands the bilateral cooperation, a comprised aim in the Annual working programme of IARM in 2014 and an integral part of the strategy for efficient cooperation with the national accreditation bodies worldwide.
 
Furthermore, within the meeting a seminar entitled “Harmonization of the National Accreditation Systems of Eurasian Countries” was held, being attended by representatives of the accreditation bodies of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Armenia. The IARM’s director, PhD Trpe Ristoski had a special elaboration on the seminar, presenting the national accreditation system of the Republic of Macedonia, at which the promotional video material for the IARM’s work was presented.
