Agreement ILAC-MRA Signed

During the Annual Assembly of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), convened in Rio de Janeiro from 16th to 26th October 2012, the IARM officially signed the Agreement for Multilateral Recognition of Accreditation in the areas of testing, calibration and inspection (ILAC-MRA) with the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), thus ascertaining yet another success of the IARM at the international level.
The signing of this Agreement, which is an upgrade of the already signed Agreement for Mutual Recognition of Accreditation with the European cooperation for Accreditation (EA-MLA), shall mean international recognition of the issued documentation by the Macedonian accredited conformity assessment bodies pursuant to the international standards ISO/IEC 17025 for testing and calibration laboratories and ISO/IEC 17020 for inspection bodies.
The novelty in this Agreement is that the initial scope has been enhanced by the recognition of the documentation issued by the accredited inspection bodies. That signifies a substantial benefit for the Macedonian economy, and particularly for the Macedonian import companies whose products and services accompanied by proof of quality issued by the national accredited bodies, are to be embraced by the global markets and exposed to fair competition.

Furthermore, the singing of these agreements is an irrefutable proof of a successful accreditation performance by the IARM, representing an additional incentive for the national companies to strengthen their interest in the accreditation enforced by the IARM, as an internationally recognized tool for assertion of the high level of quality and safety of their products.
