Celebration of the 9th June – World Accreditation Day

 

This year, resuming the tradition of last year, the Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia once again celebrated the 9th June, the World Accreditation Day. The celebration, organized in the conference hall of the hotel Aleksandar Palace, was attended by high officials of the Delegation of the European Union of the R.M. and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. Concurrently, the project “Technical Assistance for Capacity Building of the Institute for Accreditation (IARM) funded by the European Union was presented.
Introductory presentations were made on significance of accreditation for structuring up a recognizable quality of domestic products and services on an international and national scale, whereas the event was opened by Mr. Lukas Melka, representative of the Delegation of the EU in RM, Metodij Hadzi-Vaskov PhD, Vice Minister for Economy in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and Anita Grozdanov PhD, Vice Chairperson of the Council of the IARM. During the official session, the Director of the EU project, Mrs. Tamara Schramm and the team leader of the project Mrs. Irena Vasaitiene presented the aims and activities under the project “Technical Assistance for Capacity Building of the Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia (IARM)”
The Director of the IARM, Trpe Ristoski PhD spoke of the achieved results of the IARM in the past year as well as of commemorating the World Accreditation Day under the motto “Supporting the Work of Regulators”. The official session ended with awarding of the accreditation certificates to 40 accredited bodies in the period of June 2010/2011.

In addition to the accredited bodies, the event was supported by attendees from the ministries and other state administration authorities, the management and employees of the IARM, conformity assessment bodies and the assessors of the IARM.
