Conducted training course for assessors according to the standard EN ISO/IEC 17021:2006

In accordance with the Annual Training Plan of the IARM, in the period between 27th and 29th May 2010, IARM organized a three-day training course for assessors on the Standard EN ISO/IEC 17021:2006. The training took place in the premises of the Training Center of the IARM. It was realized in cooperation with the Accreditation Body of Republic of Bulgaria (BAS) in line with the Accreditation Cooperation Agreement signed both by the IARM and BAS on the 24th November 2008.

Participants in the training were assessors, candidate assessors and experts from the pool of experts of the IARM, regular employees of the IARM and external associates. As lecturers to the training acted representatives of the Accreditation Body of Republic of Bulgaria (BAS) as well as representatives from the Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia (IARM).
The purpose of the training was for the participants to attain knowledge about the requirements in the Standard EN ISO/IEC17021 for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems and Manner/ method of Assessment according to the requirements of the Standard EN ISO/IEC 17021, as well as to introduce the additional requirements as defined in the documents of the regional and international accreditation organizations (EA- European Accreditation Organization and IAF- International Accreditation Forum). In addition, all participants were familiarized with the legal and statutory aspects of accreditation, with the accreditation process itself, the procedure and methodology of assessment and competency requirements of assessors under the IARM.

At the end of the training, all participants regularly attending the training and actively participating in discussions and exercises were awarded a Certificate. The aforementioned Certificate accompanied with the acquired knowledge during the training shall provide the participants an opportunity to be engaged as assessors, involved in the assessment activities of the IARM during the accreditation of bodies providing audit and certification of management systems (for example ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, OHSAS etc.), provided they fulfill the remaining set of criteria as defined in the procedures of the IARM on selection, training and assessors performance evaluation.
